The provision of traditional family law legal services by traditional family lawyers has been for the lawyer to do all of the work. You, as the client, do nothing but pay the bill (ideally) and perhaps request some amendments or provide some additional information.simplefastaffordable

It is fair to say that the approach by lawyers in the family law landscape for a long time has been, ‘we’ll do all of the work, you just pay for it’.

Whilst there is nothing wrong with this approach, in our experience the demand for such services in Australia is changing.

  1. Firstly, clients are looking to minimise the cost of divorce/separation.
  2. Secondly, clients who are amicable with their partner after separation are attempting to steer clear of family lawyers where possible as they perceive ‘the family lawyer’ to be antagonistic and Court-focused. This risks upsetting the civil post-separation working relationship with their partner.
  3. Lastly, clients are becoming increasingly savvy when it comes to divorce and separation by turning to the internet for free information and answers on how to formalise their agreement(s) legally. The access to such information is now readily available online. Even the Family Court and the Federal Circuit Court provide user friendly DIY kits for Divorce and Consent Orders for parenting and financial matters.

It therefore stands to reason that if clients are doing more of the work themselves, they won’t require a lawyer to do it all for them.

We’ve created a service menu that takes into account the changing needs of our clients, who are those separating individuals or couples who’ve reached an agreement together.

We offer a range of different services to suit our clients’ needs, wants and conveniently their budget:

For property settlements, using our artificial intelligence platform, clients generate their own draft Proposed Orders by Consent document to formalise their agreement about the division of their assets, debts and superannuation under the Family Law Act 1975.

For joint divorce applications, clients can utilise our online questionnaire to auto populate their divorce paperwork.

We’ll Hold Your Hand

Clients provide to us their draft agreement documents that they’ve prepared, and we review the documents, amending and finalising (as appropriate) to assist in ensuring that the agreement paperwork once signed can be legally recognised under the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth).

We’ll Do It For You

This is the traditional approach where we prepare your agreement documents on your behalf. This is a great option for those clients who are time poor or don’t want to have the hassle of preparing the paperwork themselves and who can afford the extra spend.

Enough about us, let’s get back to you.

You can minimise the cost of finalising your separation/divorce agreements by doing some of the work yourselves. In doing so, you can engage us for a specific purpose that you need us for, as outlined above.
